Metacap Developments worked closely with Copper Coast Council with community participation to undertake the vision to develop a new master planned estate in close proximity to “The Dunes” Port Hughes.
The developer is commitment is to strategically develop a long-lasting community hub that will bring local tourism and a legacy of variety of new residents to permanently reside in the communities proposed.
It is anticipated this vision will be rolled out over 15-20 years to ensure a comprehensive planned delivery will allow the growth of a thriving community in the long term.
Port Hughes Jetty
Whether you’re looking for somewhere to take a stroll or somewhere to catch your next meal, the Port Hughes Jetty ticks all the boxes. Reaching out roughly 400 metres from the shore into water 6–7 meters deep, there's an abundance of blue swimmer crabs, tommy ruff, garfish and squid below the waterline.
Once serving the shipping industry, today the jetty’s focus is firmly fixed on recreation. It’s not a bad place to visit at any time of day, but it can be particularly picturesque at sunrise and sunset.
Drakes Moonta

Town of 1770 Golf Course
Built to PGA standard, The Town of 1770 Golf Course is set amidst 68 acres of natural bushland, close to the coast. Enjoy gentle sea breezes and beautiful views as you take on the Par 34 9-hole course or opt for the 18-hole tee.
Play under the watchful eye of resident wildlife, including wallabies and birds, as you enjoy a great day out with friends.
The course is open 7 days, and weekly medley golf competitions run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. After you’ve finished on the greens, stop for a drink and light snack in the clubhouse.
1770 Marina
The 1770 Marina isn’t just a destination for boaties, it’s a place to shop and dine too. Discover fashion, homewares and gifts and award-winning cafes and restaurants. Plus the marina plays host to a range of community events, big and small, including the Nights at the Marina music festival.

1770 Bowling Club
Whether you’re an experienced bowler or ready to try something new, the 1770 Bowling Club has the right green for you, and you can bowl year-round under the retractable shade cover.
Regular social bowls are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1 pm. There are barefoot bowls every Friday, and senior members are welcome to join the Prime Timers at their regular fortnightly catchups over a meal and a few hands of cards.

Urangan Pier
The historic and famous Urangan Pier is a former deep-water, cargo-handling facility originally built to support the export of sugar, timber and coal. It stretches for almost 1 km into the water, making it one of Australia’s longest piers.
Today, it’s just as popular with fishers as it is with walkers. It’s one of the best fishing spots in the region for whiting. A walk to the end of the pier will reward you with spectacular views of Hervey Bay and the chance to see fish, stingrays, and pods of dolphins.
The Great Sandy Straits Marina
Located in the Urangan Boat Harbour, the Great Sandy Straits Marina has 176 berths suited to 8-30 metre vessels. It offers long-term and short-term moorings in a secure setting, and facilities include toilets, showers and a laundry.
The marina is also home to restaurants, cafés and boutique shops. It’s the launching point for many tours and activities that take locals and visitors to world-heritage-listed K’Gari (Fraser Island) and into the crystal-clear waters of the Great Sandy Strait marine park for whale watching, fishing, snorkelling, diving and cruising.
Hervey Bay Boat Club
The Boat Club is a unique dining and entertainment destination. It’s home to three relaxed dining options – Harbourview Restaurant, with a la carte dining and stunning views, Lighthouse Café which overlooks the marina, and The Deck. All the menus feature the best of the region’s seafood.
On weekdays the boat club comes to life with trivia nights and raffles, and on weekends there’s great live music. It’s a great place to meet friends for a meal and a drink, and to celebrate those big moments and milestones in life.
Hervey Bay Golf Club
